I just started the game but can't seem to find any information about the weapon schools your character can have. My character curenty has arms and armor listed what are the others and what are there advantages and disavantages of each.

Currently arms and armor is the only choice in schools.

Schools define the specialties (classes in other games) your gladiators can be and the skills trees they can train in. Nate has mentioned a second school is on the way called Shadow & Myst, not much more is known about it or when it will be released, but when it does assuming it follows the pattern of the first school we'll get three new specialties and skill trees.
Stable: Pirate Booty
Current Gladiators: Thunder Lips, Zippy Wunderbar
Freed Gladiators: Chuck Norris

Nice! I was wondering about the same thing. Now I wonder when can I make my first Shadow & Myst gladiator
