I ended up buying the undertaker.

On another note, people sometimes gripe about the price of stable upgrades, but these are things that influence ALL your gladiators and remain FOREVER, so they are very good investments. I'm sure you're going to love your undertaker, I buy mine a beer every night!

I get trophies for kills occasionally, about 1 in 4, I do appreciate the item reward for kills or for beating a much higher lvl, goes well into funding my next equipment buy or sometimes giving something I can use.
Also you can still get trophies off arena challenges, especially if you can kill the area challenge.

i got one today from a kill and havent gotten any from a tavern since the update.
