How do I stay in a bracket?

So....
My Theatrics entered the top-10 in champions today and I was looking forward to see how she'd do in the Battle Royale there.
Tough luck: after I did some fights(Need the gold and training-points) I found her at rank 62 in the Legends-bracket.
This happened to me in the previous brackets too.
How can I avoid this next time? (And for my other glads as well)

Im afraid the only ways to negate moving up would be to lose your battles or not to issue them. The latter of these 2 options not helping completely because other gladiators can still challenge yours.
The first couple of brackets are very easy to move up from though so don't worry, it will get harder to move on in the higher brackets so you can atleast participate in the battle royale there.
