Why am I unable to sell slaves?

I went to sell one of my gladiators today, and the SELL button is unselectable (on all glads on the team).
I'm guessing it's because they're in the Blood Games, but why would that prevent me from selling? Seems weird.

you cant sell glads that are in the blood games. you will need to wait till the end of the month to sell them.
