Blacksmith items when you have more then one gladiator

I just purchased my second gladiator and I see that the blacksmith brings only items for the highest level gladiator, nothing for the low level one, even if I select the low level character. Is it supposed to work like this?

Refresh the blacksmith after you select the new glad and you will see items for him, blacksmith will display items for whichever glad is selected when you visit for the day, if you don't want to refresh make sure the correct glad is selected when you first go to the blacksmith.
