Bleed damage appearing by magic?

In an arena battle I saw my opponent suddenly start bleeding, even though there was no notification that the bleeding damage had been inflicted. I've included a screen shot showing the first sign of bleeding. As you can see there's no notification like 'Bleeding: 12', is this expected behaviour?

If the Devs need to check this battle it was at Jun 08 10:29 am server time, between Empusa and Olveek in the Elite bracket.

The skill Gratuitous Violence has a chance to inflict bleeding wounds as do Snivlers with each hit, so that may be what happened.

That is true, but I would still have expected a notifcation whatever the cause.

Nope, not for gratuitous violence, a good theatric will cause bleed on almost every hit, it becomes a 'norm' as you go on.

Some passive skills have combat effects and if a message was displayed everytime they did something it would beging to get very cluttered and messy. :)
